Updated: Mar 20, 2015 Bard Manufacturing Company makes residential and light commercial air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces. Bard is a privately-owned company headquartered in Bryan, Ohio. Bard Manufacturing Co. Was founded by Dale Bard in 1914 in Bryan, Ohio. It started out as a small heating and plumbing business and is still family-owned. The company touts its expertise in manufacturing wall-mount air conditioning units, which James Bard first helped design in 1962. Company headquarters are still in Bryan, but the company opened a second manufacturing plant in Madison, Georgia, in 1992. A third facility opened in Saltillo, Mexico, in 2001.
In 2014, Bard celebrated its 100th anniversary. Bard's largest product line is its wall-mount air conditioners, ranging in capacity from one to six tons.
It also manufactures wall-mount and geothermal heat pumps and gas, eletric and oil furnaces. In addition to air conditioners, Bard makes sensors, including thermostats, environmental controllers, energy monitors and CO2 sensors. Some of these devices include sophisticated timers and systems for controlling multiple air conditioners simultaneously. The company also makes 'energy monitor' control mechanisms that manage energy use based on cost and room activities. The company also supplies geothermal heat pump systems. Different configurations of the underground system can be built depending on the land available for use. The Bard limited warranty typically covers parts five years when used by the original purchaser, with proof of purchase, in the original place of installation.
Heat exchangers are subject to a 10-year or limited lifetime warranty, depending on the model, so long as the units are registered online within 90 days of installation. The company promises to repair or replace a defective part during this time. Whenever you call, and wherever you’re calling from, Bard customer service professionals are always eager to help. The Bard customer service department can help your company navigate logistics requirements and make it easier to select the right model.
